02What is free, and what the purchase unlocks
A large part of the app is free, with no account and no trial period:
- Study — all 11 chapters and 39 lessons, entirely free.
- Quiz — the “Quick Review” and “Getting Started” sets are free; the other 15 curated sets are premium.
- Flashcards — the History and Geography categories are free; the remaining categories are premium.
A single one-time purchase unlocks everything else: all 17 quiz sets, all flashcard categories, the daily reminder, and it removes ads. It is not a subscription — there is nothing to cancel, and it does not renew.
03Purchases and restoring
I bought the unlock but still see locked content or ads
Use Restore Purchases. Open the unlock sheet — tap any locked quiz set, or the premium row in Settings — and choose Restore Purchases. Make sure you are signed in to the same Apple Account or Google account you bought with.
I reinstalled the app or got a new phone
The unlock is permanent and tied to your store account, so Restore Purchases brings it back at no extra cost. Your study progress, however, is stored only on the device and does not transfer — see below.
Refunds
Refunds are handled by the store you bought from, not by us. On iOS, use reportaproblem.apple.com; on Android, use Google Play’s order history. If a purchase failed but you were charged, email us and we will help you sort it out with the store.
04Progress and your data
The app has no account and no server. Your quiz results, lesson completion, favorites, and settings live only on your device. That is good for privacy, but it has one consequence worth knowing: uninstalling the app erases your progress and favorites, and they cannot be recovered. Purchases are the exception — those can always be restored.
05Daily reminders
The daily reminder is a premium feature. Turn it on in Settings and pick a time; the app then schedules one notification a day on your device. Nothing is sent to a server.
If reminders do not arrive, check that notifications are allowed for the app in your device settings. On Android, aggressive battery optimization can also delay or suppress scheduled notifications — excluding the app from battery optimization usually fixes it.
06Ads and privacy
The free version shows banner ads through Google AdMob. Buying the one-time unlock removes them completely. In the EEA, UK, and Switzerland you are asked for ad-personalization consent, and you can change that choice at any time from Settings → Privacy Options.
Full details are in the Privacy Policy.
07Study content
Questions and lessons are based on Discover Canada: The Rights and Responsibilities of Citizenship, the official study guide published by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada. The app is available in English, French, Hindi, Punjabi, and Chinese; you can change the language, theme, and text size in Settings.
If you spot an answer you believe is wrong or out of date, please email us with the question text — corrections go into the next update.
Canadian Citizenship Test Prep is an independent study aid. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by the Government of Canada or Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada, and it does not guarantee any test result.
