01Information we collect

Information you provide

None required. The App has no sign-up, login, or profile. We do not ask for your name, email address, phone number, or any government identifiers.

Information stored on your device

As you use the App, it saves the following locally on your device only (using your device’s standard app storage). This information is not transmitted to us and we cannot access it:

• Quiz results, lesson completion, and study progress;
• Questions you save to Favorites;
• App settings (language, theme, text size, reminder time);
• Whether you have unlocked the premium (ad-free) version.

Information collected automatically for ads

In the free version, our advertising partner Google AdMob may collect and process certain information on our behalf to serve and measure ads, including: advertising identifiers (such as the iOS IDFA or Android Advertising ID), IP address, coarse/approximate location derived from IP, device type and operating system, and ad interaction data. The specific data depends on your device settings and your consent choices (see Section 3). We do not use a separate analytics SDK.

02How we use information

We use information to:

• Provide the App’s features and remember your progress and preferences on your device;
• Display and measure advertising in the free version (via Google AdMob);
• Process and restore your one-time purchase (via the Apple App Store or Google Play);
• Deliver the local reminder notifications you enable;
• Maintain the security and proper functioning of the App and comply with legal obligations.

03Advertising & your choices

The free version of the App displays ads served by Google AdMob. Depending on your region and consent, ads may be personalized (based on an advertising identifier) or non-personalized.

• EEA, UK, and Switzerland: before serving personalized ads, the App presents a consent request using Google’s consent management platform. You may decline personalized ads or change your choice later from the App’s Settings → Privacy Options.
• Reset or limit your advertising ID: on iOS, go to Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking (and Apple Advertising); on Android, go to Settings → Privacy → Ads to reset or delete your Advertising ID and opt out of ad personalization.
• Remove ads entirely: purchasing the premium unlock removes all ads from the App.

Google’s handling of this data is governed by the Google Privacy Policy and How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services.

04In-app purchases

The App offers a one-time purchase that unlocks premium content and removes ads. Purchases are processed entirely by the Apple App Store or Google Play under their own terms and privacy policies. We do not receive or store your payment card details. We receive only confirmation of whether a purchase or restore was successful, and we record the unlocked status locally on your device.

05Notifications

If you enable the daily reminder, the App schedules a local notification on your device at the time you choose. These reminders are generated on-device; no push tokens or notification data are sent to us or any server. You can turn reminders off at any time in the App or in your device’s notification settings.

06How information is shared

We do not sell your personal information for money. Information is shared only as follows:

• Advertising: with Google AdMob, to serve and measure ads in the free version, as described in Section 3. Note that, under some laws (e.g., California), sharing advertising identifiers for personalized advertising may be treated as a “sale” or “sharing” of personal information — see Section 9.
• App stores: with Apple and Google, to process purchases and deliver the App.
• Legal reasons: if required to comply with applicable law, legal process, or to protect rights, safety, and security.

07Data retention

Because study data lives only on your device, it remains until you delete it or uninstall the App. Uninstalling removes the locally stored data. Data processed by Google for advertising is retained according to Google’s policies. Purchase records are retained by Apple/Google per their policies.

08Children’s privacy

The App is intended for adults preparing for the Canadian citizenship test and is not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided information through the App, contact us and we will address it.

09Your privacy rights

Because we do not maintain accounts or servers, most of your data is either stored on your device (which you control directly) or processed by Google for advertising. You can exercise on-device control by adjusting settings, resetting your advertising ID, or uninstalling the App. You may also contact us using the details in Section 13.

Canada (PIPEDA)

You have the right to access and correct your personal information and to withdraw consent. As we do not hold identifiable personal information about you on our systems, requests about advertising data may need to be directed to Google. You may also contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.

European Economic Area & United Kingdom (GDPR / UK GDPR)

Where GDPR applies, our legal bases are your consent (for personalized advertising) and our legitimate interests (to operate the App and show non-personalized ads). You have the rights to access, rectify, erase, restrict, or object to processing, to data portability, and to withdraw consent at any time. You may lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. Withdraw advertising consent via Settings → Privacy Options.

California (CCPA/CPRA)

We do not sell personal information for money. However, allowing personalized ads may constitute “sharing”/“sale” of identifiers under California law. You have the right to know, delete, and correct personal information, and to opt out of such “sharing”/“sale” — you can do so by declining ad personalization, limiting ad tracking on your device, or purchasing the ad-free version. We honor Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals where required.

10International data transfers

Our service providers (such as Google and the app stores) may process information in countries other than yours, including the United States. Where required, these transfers rely on appropriate safeguards such as the Standard Contractual Clauses.

11Security

We design the App to minimize the data it handles: no account, no developer-run servers, and study data kept on your device. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but keeping data on-device and relying on the platform vendors’ payment and ad infrastructure reduces risk.

12Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above and, for material changes, provide notice within the App or on this page. Your continued use of the App after an update means you accept the revised policy.
